Have you heard of the Esio Hot & Cold Beverage System?

What a fun convenience this Esio beverage system is to have in my kitchen! The countertop unit can dispense favorite hot and cold drinks, instantly, with no waste and no mess. It has a drop’ndrink™ technology that lets us switch immediately from say, a cold V8 Splash to a hot tea without one tasting like the other.

Now, water is the best drink, I always tell the kids. But, that being said, this is a really neat appliance! My teenagers love it. It is their very own drink machine.

You can choose what drink you want from a line of Esio’s MultiServe E-Paks™, then you put in your E-Pak and set the strength you want your drink and your temperature. It is dispensed instantly. The E-Paks reseal automatically after use so there is no waste and they stay fresh.

I like that using the packs saves money overall. At about $.40 per 8-oz. serving, you spend less than single-serve bottled beverages. The beverages are familiar brands, low calorie and low sugar and the unit itself has a carbon filter for your water.

I received the Esio Hot & Cold Beverage System, and a supply of Esio’s MultiServe E-Paks™, to try out with my family and friends over the holidays. I received no additional compensation and all opinions are mine.

#BagItForward donation preparation

I really like the idea of helping others. But…I am sooo busy!

I really am. And I am a homeschool, stay at home mom. I do not even have a 9 a.m. meeting or a child spitting up on me. (I do, at this exact moment have a dog throwing up somewhere, but I am not going to get that yet). I have something to share with you.

One thing that is making helping others easier for me lately are these Simple Service projects I heard about online with Champions for kids. Companies like Walmart and Elmers are giving loads of help as well.

This month I got a Bag It Forward Mission.

Grin. School supplies! I am such a geek and I love school supplies.

For this Bag It Forward mission I got to get some quality school supplies like Elmer’s items (and of course Perry stuff) at Walmart, and get some friends and neighbors to help me create a donation.

From there, all kinds of fun ensued. Seriously! I got to download a cute App, help children in need in two different ways, experience how much kids love to help and have a fun party experience.

You can see all that happened on my Google+ story here:

The first thing I did was go to Walmart and check out the Elmer’s 1st Day App. I found the carousel with supply lists:

See the QR code?

This is a Free App for iPhone and Android. Just snap a picture, create a memory and share with your friends and family.

And, get this – you will also help children in need receive school supplies just by taking a picture!

So HOW exactly does this App really help others?

“For every picture uploaded with the 1st day app, Elmer’s will donate one product to the Kids in Need Foundation and is proud to help with a donation of up to 200,000 products.”

After downloading my app, I got to shop.

As we checked out, I thought about ways to collect extra donations from my friends, neighbors and family. My daughter and I were throwing a crafting party and it seemed perfect make this very personal to some of the kids and to ask them to bring some extra school supplies to donate!

I expected a few items, but the girls, ranging in age from 7 to 16, brought tons of things. I think kids are so generous. They often just need a little direction on how to help—even if my direction was just get some supplies. I love these Simple Service Projects.

I was so proud of the little girls who all took this so seriously. Not only did the girls bring many staple supplies, glue, paper, glue sticks, markers, crayons and binders, they also brought some fun supplies with Disney characters like Perry. I know those will make some little child smile!

I was thinking of donating our supplies to the Boys and Girls Club close to me. But I walked into church this Sunday morning and saw that our church doing a Cherokee Ministry School Supply Collection (for the Cherokee Compassionate Ministries in North Carolina).

I immediately felt that this was the perfect way to share our donation. I cannot wait to tell the girls this is where our donation ended up!

You can also support The Bag It Forward Mission in your town.  Download the App and/or visit Walmart and pick up some great Elmer’s School supplies to donate to support the First Day App and the idea of helping other schoolchildren in need with the Bag It Forward project. Because EVERY child should have some special new supplies for back to school!

See Bag It Forward on Pinterest or visit Elmer’s: Elmer’s on Facebook and Elmer’s on Twitter

Where should you go to download the app?

The 1st Day™ app is available now for download on iPhone and Android mobile devices via QR (Quick Response) code scan; codes can be found on select Elmer’s glue bottles and will be displayed in stores where school supplies are sold.

Also, the app is available for download directly from the iTunes Store and Google Play or here: 1st Day App download

You all know I love Wholly Guacamole! My favorite is the organic version, of course!

Overall, as a mom of teenagers, I feel I need to be able to pull out chips and dips to support the kids and their friends. Serving Wholly Guacamole and Garden of Eatin chips, makes me a cool mom…serving healthy snacks that the kids love.

Anyway, when I heard that Wholly Guacamole is participating in a “Get on the Shelf” promotion with Walmart, I thought,

“Well, it’s about time!! People trying to shop to save money should have healthy choices, too”!!

If you agree, go vote!! Hurry, voting ends April 4th

Then…look for your favorite Wholly Guac and Salsa at Walmart, I hope. PS: new flavors are coming, too!

*I posted this to share and received no compensation. I am a proud Guac Squad Blogger.

You know, A long time ago…in a galaxy far, far away, I was a young single mom.  The thought of  Back to School filled me with some good thoughts —

“less daycare costs,” but also some trepidation — “my kid needs some new clothes and school supplies”!

I actually got a credit card once JUST to buy new shoes and a backpack. I paid some RIDICULOUS fees on that thing, too. I still hate the Capital One commercials…even though they are funny.

Anyway, my baby had those shoes and a new backpack. I just ache for the women out there who will be worrying about this later this August.

I wish I had thought up some grand scheme to help these ladies…but I am still a newish blogger….lets work on that next year! For now, I am glad to support the Elmer’s Bagging It Forward program.
