Dads Desk:

It was finally time to take my gaming experience to the next level with EA Sports NCAA Football 13.  Before I headed out to my local Walmart, I made sure it was available.  A quick check of Walmart.com on my iPad assured me a copy was waiting for me.  I grabbed my teenage daughter and headed out.

The most noticeable difference is the quality of the HD graphics.  Next is the addition of the  Dynasty mode.  As I mentioned before, you have the opportunity to add one of several former Heisman Trophy winners to your team and help them regain that prestigious title.  Take the time to go through all the menus and familiarize yourself with all that NCAA Football 13 has to offer.

As I mentioned in my last post, I faced a last second defeat at the hands of my seven year old daughter.  With EA Sport’s You’re Covered Program, in four simple steps I was able to add her face to the cover of our game. Just go to the link and follow the steps.

She got a kick out of hers:

and when we shared it on Facebook, she got plenty of Likes.  It was fun to personalize the cover for her and now her victory is a great family story with “proof”.

As I mentioned before, here is a quick rundown of the main differences between EA Sports  NCAA Football 12 and NCAAFootball 13.

  1. You can become one of 10 legendary Heisman Trophy winners (Robert Griffin III, Doug Flutie, or Herschel Walker–just to name a few).  I choose Herschel Walker in honor of my wife having attended UGA.  Use their strengths and talents on your favorite team to help them in their quest to regain the Heisman Trophy.
  2. The Passing game has been improved-both from a Quarterback and Wide Receiver standpoint.    As the QB you will have more control on the ball’s trajectory and on how you use play action and the option.  As a WR you will have a greater ability to read and react to the defense; so you can make that catch.
  3. Reaction time will depend on who you are.  Football players have differing abilities and now that is factored into the game.  The game slows down during key times increasing your on-field awareness and opening up more opportunities as you sense things before they happen.
  4. Impact your ability to recruit the talent your team needs with Dynamic Dynasty.  Your recruiting grade can change from week to week.  And your Game day Saturdays will come to life with live studio updates and commentary by Rece Davis.

So, the stage is set in our home for a rematch.  Will this one end differently?  Will I be able to overcome the football prowess of my second grader?  No matter the outcome, the HD graphics, new player features, and Dynamic Dynasty option—to name a few—guarantee a good time will be had on the Grid Iron.

A Digestive Care Supplement can help with tummy issues

As my readers know, I have spent the past few years on a quest to feel healthier and have more energy. As a wife and mom of five, I really need energy.

The latest news from my doctor is that my white blood cell count is super high, which supports his original assessment of an immune system issue. But, many things, like lupus, have been ruled out. As I am still functional (haha) my appointment with a specialist is in February.

Deep sigh. Yet again, I feel like I am close to finding specific reasons for why I just don’t feel great all the time, yet mainstream medicine is not “coming to the rescue.”

So far, things I have done to help myself have worked wonders. Our family eats organic, unprocessed foods, I drink tons of water and green tea, cook with cast iron and use no plastic. I take vitamins and have gone gluten free to help with tummy issues. (btw, going gluten free has helped me lose a bunch of weight!)

Anyway, all these things I have done did not happen overnight. Really it has been a long process of about five years, doing research and trying things and seeing what helps me.

The latest thing I am trying is because I saw a review opportunity for a probiotic. It reminded me to try that again. Years ago, when Em was little, I had tried a probiotic to help with stomach bloating and discomfort. At the time, it did not seem to help much and I stopped using it.

Looking back now, I think I should have continued, while not expecting it to do all the things my body needed. Still, now that I have dealt with some things and changed my eating habits, I am curious to see if adding in probiotics will help with my sensitive stomach and improve my overall energy level.

So far, I have been taking the Sam’s Club Member’s Mark 4x Probiotic since Wednesday, so about four days. I know I need to do it longer to get a feel for it, but one funny side effect is that my digestive system seems much more functional, and by that I mean regular…

Enough said. But, I will be back with another post to let you know how I feel after doing this for awhile.

Also, the Sam’s Club 4xProbiotic pack is a twin pack with (2) 6 week packages. So, you get a three month supply of 84 caplets—or, you can share with your husband. I am having my husband try this as well.

Curious? Read about the Member’s Mark 4x Probiotic and digestive health or go check it out at Sam’s Club.

If you try it, let me know.

I like that the caplets come wrapped individually and packaged for a week, with each day labeled. That helps me a lot to remember to take the right day and not get ahead or behind.
