Launches September 12th, 2013

I just wanted to share about this upcoming release; the book looks adorable and will certainly be useful to children dealing with divorce. The concept is genius and the artwork is quite well done. Take a look for yourself!

“I and the Great Divide” is an illustrated children’s book, designed to leave kids in divorce feeling loved, peaceful, and self-expressed. Both print and kindle copies will be available for purchase at Amazon on September 12th, 2013.

The book has received great feedback from across North America.

“We all are capable of making a difference in the life of a child… ‘I and the Great Divide’ … takes this truth into thechallenges a child may face with the separation of parents. [A situation] that needs to be handled with this level of care, sensitivity and understanding. Well done.”

Fred Penner, Family Entertainer

Author, Fiona McGlynn wrote the book with her own parent’s divorce in mind. “As a child, I blamed myself for what was going on between my parents. I wrote “i and the Great Divide” to help kids feel loved and to create an open family discussion on divorce.”

The book will be available for $12.99 at Amazon and for $7.99 on Kindle.

New Series for Children

New Series for Children!

What a good new series for kids! I really like Sheila Walsh’s stories for children, especially the Gigi ones. This new series is a sweet, comforting one. With this series, Walsh shows her understanding of children as she shares the good news.

Themes of God’s love and protection run all through the tales and there are beautifully drawn and colored illustrations, by Marina Fedotova.

In the midst of a time where there are few things to capture a child’s imagination and teens flock to follow vampire literature just to get a taste of imagination, It is more than good, but imperative to see a child’s book talking about Angels again–and not just at Christmas, but for everyday life.

And, let’s not forget, as my daughter pointed out,

“There are even ponies!”

I asked Em to do this video review for kids. I did not prompt her in any way, so I thought it was sweet that she paid just as much attention to the verse at the end of the book as the ponies:

The Official Word:

What little girl wouldn’t love her very own guardian angel? Parents and children alike will be won over by this humorous tale of Gabby, a guardian angel in training who has much to learn about taking care of God’s little ones. Her new assignment is to protect a young girl named Sophie, but Gabby soon realizes that watching after Sophie is a bigger challenge than she had expected! After a close call while riding her pony, Sophie learns what the Bible says about guardian angels: “He will put his angels in charge of you. They will watch over you wherever you go” (Psalm 91:11 ICB).

About Sheila:

Sheila Walsh is the creator of the award-winning Gigi, God’s Little Princess® Sheila is a Bible teacher, speaker, singer, and best-selling author with more than 4 million books sold. Great Book for teaching about God

Enter to win a copy of This Little Prayer of Mine!

Are you looking for ways to increase your child’s understanding and knowledge of who God is? A way to reinforce your child’s desire to pray? This sweet hardback book shows children that God loves them and wants them to trust in him no matter what the situation–and that any moment is a good moment for a little prayer!

The words are simple and easy to read for little ones…but the content is very profound. I enjoyed listening to my youngest read the book to me and we  liked the bold, realistic illustrations that have a bit of a three dimensional feel to them.

The Official Word: Anthony DeStefano’s adult books, The Prayers God Always Says Yes To and A Travel Guide to Heaven, have sold a quarter-million copies. Illustrator Mark Elliott’s cherished artwork has appeared in popular picture books and novels for young readers, including Gail Carson Levine’s ever-popular Princess Tales series.

Now, these acclaimed inspirational experts have come together to create This Little Prayer of Mine, a beautiful and alluring book designed to guide children into a very simple, real and expressive relationship with God.

Through engaging rhymes and alluring illustrations, This Little Prayer of Mine shows children—and their parents and grandparents—that complete dependence on God is what brings peace and fulfillment. It invites children to know and believe that God is always just a simple prayer away and that He longs to respond to them with a resounding, “Yes!”

Easy-reader format allows children to read alone, or with someone older, and encourages them to openly express their fears, thanks, and needs directly to God.

This Little Prayer of Mine is available on the Random House Website.
