Pillsbury Sweet Mornings

Our big guys love a little sweet!

Our big guys love a little sweet!

What are some of your favorite childhood weekend breakfast memories? When I was little, I remember my Mom doing a full breakfast and Dad making fires on weekend mornings. They would then read the papers while we ran around. In the summer, we would eat all this outside. I remember homemade treats and plenty of orange juice.

Oh, yes, I was spoiled! These days, for some families, it is difficult just to get together and eat and rest—to enjoy food and family times.

It shouldn’t be hard to gather together and enjoy a treat!

Now that I am Mom, I try to recreate that relaxed, easy weekend feeling. While I will do homemade, I also really love the ease of being able to pop open some Pillsbury rolls, yogurts, fruit and OJ. My kids love this. They feel cared for…and I haven’t worked hard at all.

  1. Normally one day out of the weekends we have a big family breakfast of things we wouldn't normally have during the week. For example omelets and hashbrowns, pancakes and sausage, scrambled egg bacon and cheese sandwichs. Normally my oldest son gets to help learn how to cook on that day too.

  2. I follow your blog.

  3. I love Pillsbury products! These sound so yummy. Our favorite thing is for the kids to "surprise" me with breakfast in bed. I pretend I don't hear them banging around in the kitchen!!! They are graduating from a bowl of cereal to a fully cooked eggs and sausage breakfast!

  5. Weekend mornings these days are definitely for sleeping in and lounging around!

  8. Not every Saturday, but sometimes we will sleep a little late and then have brunch. I love to make homemade hashbrowns, eggs, sausage, grits, or sometimes pancakes. On Sundays I sometimes make canned biscuits since there isn't much time to cook before church. My family likes to put butter and honey on them. (Now I've made myself hungry!!)

  14. My favorite weekend breakfast memories are from visiting my parents with my kids. Before he retired, Dad would get together with one of my kids on Saturday evening to make caramel rolls, and he'd be up bright and early on Sunday to get them in the oven. What a great thing to wake up to.

Now that he is retired, he'll do that pretty much any night, not just Saturday. 🙂

  15. We usually sleep in and then run errands together

  17. Saturday is the day we actually cook breakfast–pancakes, waffles, or eggs. My dad always cooked big Saturday morning breakfast for the family when I was growing up.
