Have you heard about the Tyndale Rewards program?

I heard about it, but never did check it out. Now that I took a look, I’m sorry I didn’t sign up earlier!

The program is SUPER simple to participate in and has no drawbacks that I see!

You pretty much can earn points by doing certain things (easy stuff) and then you redeem points for FREE books and Bibles. On top of that, as a member of the Tyndale Rewards program, you’ll have access to inspiring literature, Bibles, special promotional offers, and much more.

You’ll even get a free gift on your birthday, and opportunities to share personal recommendations and feedback concerning Tyndale products (already a blogger? You can do this also!). The more participation you have with the program, the more points you earn—and points translate into free stuff!

I just got a bunch of points tonight and some of the free books look very good.

Bottom line:

The Tyndale Rewards program is a great way to get free books and Bibles that you can keep for yourself or give to friends and family. Your journey to earning free faith-based products is here!

You can also refer your friends and earn points for that. In this post today, I’m sharing my Tyndale Rewards link so I can get points if you sign up.

To refer your friends and earn points, first sign up for free. Then click the “Earn Points” tab get your code from the “Invite a Friend to Join” section.

There is no cap on the amount of points you can generate through referring friends to signup.

To redeem your points: log in to your account on TyndaleRewards.com to see how many points you have collected in your account. Next, browse the product available for redemption. If you find a product you like and you have accumulated enough points, click the “Redeem” button.

Listen to a sample of the audio, from Cause and Effect, Adventures in Odyssey #52

We love Adventures in Odyssey! I particularly like the videos (I am hard of hearing and so tend to find listening more difficult) But, the longer I homeschool, the more I fall in love with audio experiences for my kids. I like listening on trips and now I have begun having “quiet times” where we just rest and listen. And, of course, Adventures in Odyssey teach great character traits. I like that extra help. My 5 year old loved these stories !

Episode List:

The set of 4 Cds was released in October for $24.99. But, you can purchase from Focus on The Family partnering with Christianbook.com at a great price! There are also links to buy the CD or the mp3 album…or even purchase individual stories. Or, purchase on Amazon.

The Christ of Christmas Download

Heather —  December 22, 2009

ChristofChristmas

Tyndale House Publishers and Christian recording artist and author of 101 Ways to Give This Christmas Away, Matthew West (http://matthewwest.com/ ), is offering a free download of the Christmas story from Luke.

You can also download a free copy of the Gospel of John in the New Living Translation.

Go Here:  www.thechristofchristmas.com and to download, scroll to the bottom and click on “Download the Christmas Story” etc:)

I went ahead and checked this out and although I am partial to my King James version, I think the reading is uplifting and pleasant. So, download & enjoy!

Some neat ways to share your download include:

  • Family time listening experience (hot cocoa, fire place, Christmas cheer
  • Christmas E-cards (include a link to the download in your Christmas card this year)
  • Posting the link in the comments sections of other blogs you read to spread the word
  • Embed the audio file into your Facebook page or website so it plays automatically
  • Spread the Gospel though Twitter
  • Send the link through a text message or through your smart phone so you can download the file and play it all around town

forgirlsonlydevoI am thinking this devotional, For Girls Only! by Carolyn Larsen and illustrated by Leah Sutherland, will be perfect for one of my daughters. I plan to tuck it into her sticking at Christmas.

I often choose items that are really above my children’s levels…I suppose I know they are smart, so I try not to offend them, and then I end up choosing overly complicated books.

However, with this particular book, I just felt like it was a good match for my 13 year-old. The book is actually targeted at 8-12 year olds…but please do not tell her! When I saw the stylized illustrations and the just for tween daily devotions, I thought, “this is a book that will be calming and rejuvenating to her—not complicated—middle school is hard enough!

The writing and design of each devotion is brilliant for a tween.  Each one begins with a Bible verse and tells a tale of a particular girl dealing with a modern day issue, in light of God’s word. Then, the next several sections reinforce the lesson with a fun quiz, some ways to implement what you have learned, and a “things to remember” section, with more Bible verses and quotes from others, such as Mother Teresa.

I love the wonderful discussions and fanciful illustrations and the overall format of the book. The glossy softback book fits nicely into a small hand with about 240 pages.

Do take a look at a PDF of the first Chapter, here. Or, you can also preview this book in Google, here.

I also noticed that Amazon has included this book in their 4 for 3 deal…

I also like this back cover copy:

Fighting your fears?
Feeling like you don’t measure up?
Dealing with gossip?
For Girls Only! Devotions talks about the issues you face.
Many devotion books tell you what the Bible says; this one does that . . . and more! It also helps you live out what the Bible says.

To see this book, or other children’s devotionals, see www.tyndale.com. The book is priced at $9.99, which seems reasonable to me.

Please let me know–What do you give your girls to read?

Thanks to Tyndale House Publishers. They have provided me with a complimentary copy of this book to review.
