Today is Day 4

One of my quiet and faithful TOS crew leaders, Brenda, over at Garden of Learning, is doing a Gratitude Challenge for the month of November. I am pleased to join in and should be posting something I am grateful for each day.

For today, I am grateful that we are going on a homeschool field trip to Mt. Vernon tomorrow!

I meant to write something really profound today. So much for that. But, I really enjoy our homeschooling lifestyle and fieldtrips are really the icing on that cake. Last Spring, we went to Monticello on a homeschool field trip and had such a great time!

We have been studying the American Revolution and Emma is pretty impressed with General Washington in the Liberty Kids on Netflix…this should be fun. (Now wish me luck for the drive. I hate driving near D.C.!)

For today, I am grateful to have too much to do.

Really. I am busy. Busy teaching kids, cleaning house, organizing grocery coupons and lists, cooking, washing sheets, cleaning that bathroom (maybe I should get to that), deciding what bloggy things I am doing…

And I am grateful for these things. Things I really do want to do. Things I chose to do. Sometimes they are humdrum and annoying, and most of them are never truly “done”.

But mostly, I enjoy taking care of my family, my home.

I tend to minimize it myself, but for now, my family is my mission. And that’s just fine with me.

The Gratitude Challenge

Today is day 2

One of my quiet and faithful  TOS crew leaders, Brenda, is doing a Gratitude Challenge for the month of November. I am pleased to join in and should be posting something I am grateful for each day.

To be honest, I find memes difficult to keep up with. I tend to get excited and join up and then get busy with other pressures…I get easily sidetracked, often by good things, but sidetracked nonetheless.

I realized I especially wanted to should do the gratitude challenge when I wasn’t sure how to spell gratitude and wasn’t sure what to be grateful for. Ouch.

I AM grateful for many things but often can think of things to be critical of much more quickly than things to be thankful for. You know, where one thing leads to another…like I’m thankful that everyone has lovely winter coats…but ah, I need to get some hats and gloves…

I want to be quietly grateful and not worry about what comes next so much. So, that’s my goal for November.

For today, I am grateful for the love of my family.

Multitude Monday

This Monday, I am especially thankful for a bible study based on the book, Stepping Heavenward, that I am doing. The format is very simple but structured and it is helping me tremendously.

For my Husband

I am thankful for my babies

Thankful my daughter is a quick learner. Teaching her is so easy!

For the Thanksgiving Holiday coming up

Thankful to be on the TOS crew. I am learning so much about Homeschooling…as well as homemaking…and a bit about health.

For a full fridge, with a turkey thawing:)

For a child who loves to cook who helps so much.

For my husband getting the sheets out of the dryer and making the bed when I was just exhausted. I love fresh, warm sheets!

For God’s provision–even down to having fun lessons on Pilgrims when I did not set that up, but someone popped them into my in box!

holy experience
