Autumn Treasures Ebook

Guys, here is the free ebook I mentioned earlier this week. I reviewed this below. The final version is even better than my review copy! Very colorful and great fun for your children and grandchildren. It is recommended for ages k-4 (although my daughter loved it and she’s prek–and definitely do it with them, that is the fun part for both of us! Check it out:)

Download N Go

Download N Go, Lapbooking: Verb. 1: To acquire knowledge and skills through using really fun hands-on activities and a unit study about a particular topic. Compiling projects from Autumn Treasures in a file folder you can hold in your lap while you sip hot apple cider with mom. (definition, mine)

Sounds cool, doesn’t it? Well, I have a confession to make. I have never done lapbooking with my kids. I know my kids love to do hands-on, tactile and kinesthetic projects and I like unit studies, but I am not crafty and the thought of doing lapbooks intimidated me.

Well, I downloaded my e-files from the new TOS “Download N Go” learning series. I got a wonderful surprise!  Apparently I waited just long enough to get all the benefits of lapbooking for my kids, without all the work.  My four year old will be so excited when we go through this process.

With this series, you download two components: five daily lessons and lapbooking activities for each day. You will need a few lapbook supplies, such as file folders, glue sticks, brass brads and coloring materials, but otherwise you are ready to start working as soon as you download.

Within each daily lesson, there are lesson plans, book suggestions, links to videos, recipes, and more. With the lapbooking activities, you get all the pieces you will need to configure your lapbook. The directions are so easy to follow. I love that.  Also, one complaint I have heard from some people is that there can be a lot of busywork in doing lapbooks. With this file, we have so much to choose from and many items look very educational, so I feel good about that.

The suggested time frame to complete your unit is one week. The age range is K-4. With my four year old, I think we will take a little longer, and this can easily be adapted to go longer or even be used for Co-op type classes.

I have the e-book on my laptop, so we can click on the videos and such. I also printed out the lapbooking portion so we can cut out all the pieces for the lapbook.

We have the “Autumn Treasures” lapbook , the first in this series. In this unit, we will be studying Science, History, Geography, Spelling and Vocabulary. We will be taking nature walks, making yummy recipes with fall foods and watching videos. This looks like a wonderful addition to our curriculum. I look forward to getting more of these!

I did receive this free to review. (no pay:) Now, looks like EVERYONE gets this one free:) Click on the photo to get yours.
