Abcteach Review

Summary & Rating: 4. Although I generally hate “busywork/worksheets” I ended up liking this site because I could find or create just the right thing…at the right time! The abcteach site offers tons and tons of printable documents for students. The free site has over 6,000…and the membership site has over 35,000, plus the abctools portion of the site where you can create your own printables, such as  your own spelling tests, crosswords, and other worksheets.

To get a feel for how many teaching helps they have, check out the video tour, here.

abctools_panel_270When I first got this subscription, I was overwhelmed by the magnitude of printables. Actually, after about five minutes, I shut it down and walked away, fearing I would waste time I really needed.

A few days later, I suspected my son had not really been paying attention to his History lessons and I wanted to create a quick worksheet that would be fun. So, I went back to abcteach…and I did a 180 on my opinion of the site. I loved being able to create what I needed easily.

What I liked best:

  • The abctools custom document creator
  • That there is no advertising on the member website
  • The search bar and a directory for already created worksheets, activities and other teaching helps
  • That there is a homeschool section
  • That they send out a newsletter–it shows new content and has ideas for the month

The price for membership varies if you can be in a group. I noticed that the Homeschool Buyer’s Co-op recently offered a 50% off deal on abcteach membership—so check around.

The individual price for membership is $40 per year. This comes out to about $3.33 per month. Not bad.

Here are some other pricing options:

  • $40 per user per year / $70 two years.  (individuals/groups 2-9)
  • $35 per user per year (groups of 10-29)
  • $25 per user per year (groups of 30 or more.)
  • Super Site pricing available for groups of 100 or more. Contact for details.

A six week subscription to ABCteach was provided to me for the purpose of my review. I received no compensation and I have expressed my unbiased opinion on this product.
