Well, Thanksgiving went well….and then, I apparently crashed.
I think sometimes after the holiday is very anticlimactic! So far, I have been unprepared for schoolwork, unprepared for getting Dinner on the Table, behind in review stuff, hopelessly forgetful in general. Rain on Monday didn’t help. So, anyway, yesterday I made pretty lame chicken soup, and went & hid in my bedroom with all my planning stuff at 6 p.m. Yes, I did. My husband seemed to think that was the best thing to do, also:)
Today, (thank you Lord!) Virginia is bright and sunny. I have some grocery plans I need to finalize. I’ve got two laundries going…my daughter is fed & almost in the bath and I just got my teenager started on a mini study of The Illiad (that should keep him busy!)
I have mulled over what we are doing for the Advent season and just purchased Jotham’s Journey on Amazon (I signed up for that Amazon Prime for a trial month so I can get all our Christmas stuff shipped free). I was feeling very overwhelmed about what to do for Advent.
There are plenty of great sites with all kinds of activities–for me…too many! Anyway, there was a nice discussion about Advent over at the BlogFrog. I realized I just need to pick something & stop looking at everything for now. So, we have the advent wreath, I’m getting candles and we will have the Jotham’s Journey to read. I still want one simple type reading to do pre-dinner at the table. While it may sound sad to say that all our children will not bask around the table doing long advent readings…well, that is true. Unless, I do a fantastic job and include brownies…..
Ok. off to find food & pray about what God wants me to do about Advent:)
